  • Gorgeous Voice!

    By KC Diva 9
To me, this woman's voice is flawless. Her tone, her technique, the richness of her bottom notes all the way to her never shrill glorious high notes---just beautiful. As an opera singer, I can honestly say hers is my favorite voice of our era, and this cd shows her off .
  • Heavenly

A beautiful voice and not too hard on the eyes either.
  • Ok, 5 Stars but with a comment

Renee Fleming is a stunningly talented opera soprano, with a voice that just simply melts me away every time I hear her sing. However, on this recording, she starts O Mio Babbino Caro and almost "barks" when she hits the low note of Babbino. I wonder why any producer would let that into a recording of any of her work. Still, she hits the same note in other works but this one time it just grates against the road when you hear it. Still worth the price for the album, there's a lot of exceptional work here, I'd just look elsewhere for Oh Mio Babbino Caro.

She is the GREATEST Singer to walk the Earth! I just saw her perform for the Oboma concert "we are one" I am still crying!
  • Beasts be ware; all who enter will be tamed.

I listen to jazz, rock, classical and "good" country in that order. I always say I don't listen to Opera at home. I go to opera. To see the spectacle. The sets blow me away. Then there is the huge sound of the symphony in a hall made for the purpose. Thirdly (in my very limited view) are the voices. I find them overly dramatic or just plane irritating . . . Until I discovered Ren'ee Fleming! Now I LISTEN to opera. At home. That is I listen to her! I cannot help it. I stop in my tracks and am transported. If you are a beast unacquainted with opera, as I am, this Ren'ee Fleming collection is a great place to be tamed.
  • One of Fleming's Best!

I discovered this CD 6 years ago and it has since become one of my favorites among my opera collection. At the time I was completely ignorant about opera and now ironically I am working as an opera singer. I would say that this CD truly changed my life as it introduced me to the art form that would become my profession. What is evident from the very first track of this CD is Fleming's unusally beautiful rich smooth tone which is perfect for the Romantic music selections on this album. Her voice moves effortlessly from the lower to upper register of the voice and everything sounds so simple and easy and free. The vocal control Fleming demonstrates is absolutely remarkable. The ending of Quando Men Vo and the beginning of Ah, Je Veux Vivre are particullarly thrilling moments that demonstrate this. I would venture to say that their are only a handful of singers in the world who can do what she does. Fleming is also a wonderfully expressive singer. I have never heard more wonderfully dramatic interpretation of Micaela's aria from Carmen or as playful a version of Juliette's aria from Romeo et Juliette. Fleming's Un Bel Di Vedremo is one of the best recordings of the aria and her interpretation of Quando Men Vo is so good it has ruined my enjoyment of any other singer's rendition. Honestly, every song on this CD thrills and whether you are new to opera or have been a fan for a long time I think you will enjoy this CD.
